Software for a friend. We need to take a step back. When I went to install phpMyAdmin I found that the latest version requires PHP 5.2 or better and the latest stable build available, at this time, from the CentOS repository (repo) is 5.1.6. Because of the potential security risks associated with a database I am dedicating this article to just setting up and configuring the MySQL Server. Now we will setup and test our FTP and Web Servers. We also will be making some changes to SELinux and to our users home directory to make life easier on us later on. |
